This particular challenge was presented to us by a global Tier One automotive supplier, which needed a specialized laser moved from Argentina to Mexico in less than two weeks. The problem, they said, was that “this machine is too large to fit in any aircraft other than the Antonov” – the biggest cargo airplane in the world.
Solution:
Our creative solution required de-installation, rigging, trucking, crating air freight, and specialized trucking for delivery. Together with our partner, the logistics coordination from origin to the destination was executed to perfection.
Each task was performed according to the schedule promised. Customs formalities were completed in less than eight hours in Mexico – a feat in itself. We made sure an ICAT member was on-site throughout the process to oversee the project from beginning to end. And the cargo was delivered right on time, much to the delight of the customer.
